60-Day temporary LICENSE - Nonresident Validly Licensed in Another Jurisdiction
A nonresident veterinarian validly licensed in another jurisdiction who pays the the fee established and published by the board may be issued a temporary license for a period of no more than sixty (60) days. No more than one temporary license may be issued during each calendar year.
To apply for a temporary license, you must:
- Complete the application form below.
- Pay the temporary license fee of $40.
- Provide a copy of all valid licenses to practice issued by another jurisdiction.
The temporary license will be issued by the Executive Director of the North Dakota Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. A temporary license will not be granted to an applicant if they have previously failed the state board examination. Please note that you must complete the orientation program administered by the USDA before you can you can work as an accredited veterinarian in the state of North Dakota.
